Wow. This one seriously stylish home; full of personality and intriguing flair, it's challenging my current favourite, India Knight's Victorian home in London. However, I've decided as it's both mine and my blog's birthday this week I'm allowed two favourite home tours!
Freestanding mirrors such as this one echoes luxurious hotels, but the simple frame makes it suitable for everyday living and provides a much more homely atmosphere to that offered by grandeur style frames. Even more importantly, the soft hues of the colour scheme allow for the yellow chair to become the focus of the room, despite the play on size with the over sized mirror.
I couldn't decide between the chandelier or the print to be my favourite part of the dining room, so it's a tie! The chandelier for its whimsical and romantic qualities, whereas the print for it's in-your-face, confident and playful nature. This is why I like this house so much. These are two styles that really shouldn't work and are not often seen together, but here they certainly work. I love finding rooms that show how you can mix styles, trends, investment pieces and bargain bin purchases with stunning effect; it makes me feel more confident about 'finding' my own interior style.
Arren's home was originally featured in Canadian House and Home magazine, and with this kitchen I can totally see why. From my posts last week, this week's 'colourful find' in the sidebar and my general harping on about it, you'll know I'm loving yellow at the moment. Don't you think the yellow in this kitchen is really uplifting? It makes me smile just looking at it.
After this tour I know you'll need no convincing to go over and check out Arren's blog, along with his diverse portfolio of work. Like his home, it's a visual treat.
If you would like to share a room, or even a whole home tour with me, then shoot me an email from the link in my sidebar.
