{Chandeliers}

Sometimes I think we all long for that extra dash of elegance in our lives, and the faithful chandelier is pretty much elegance in an instant. What strikes me about this collection of images, though, is the variety of schemes in which are glamorous friends are used. From farmhouse-chic (1) dining rooms to modern-meets-grandeur kitchens (6). Weirdly, the chandelier seems to work its sparkling magic everytime.

{Pendant Pairs}

I was inspired to write this post after the lovely Jane from the girl in the brick house commented on my post about pattern last week. It led me to think about whether pendants should be grouped in threes, rather than twos. I know, I know, really there shouldn't be too many rules when it comes to decorating, otherwise it would be boring. But, let's face it, things often do look better in threes. That said, check out these super sexy spaces, all featuring wonderful pairs of pendants. P.S. I don't think I'll ever tire of the Knappa pendant.

{Angus Fergusson Photography}

Behind every glossy magazine page, swoonful styling and sexy portfolio there's usually a hugely talented photographer. Angus Fergusson is one of those talented people who produces brilliant images from our much loved clicky things. Before you take a peek at the gorgeous interiors he's photographed, I just want to say thank you so much for all your comments and kind words this week. Hearing from so many liked minded people really makes my day and always inspires me further. Whatever you do this weekend, I hope you have a blast and I'm already looking forward to seeing you back here on Monday for more tasty treats!

Sumptuous textiles - I'd like to snuggle up here with a good book on a winter's night.

Washed-out pink walls work wonders in this relaxing space.

Super funky colour going on here. Perfect for a college room, perhaps?

Too, too cute! (Couldn't resist posting this one!)

I think having an all-white interior in this scheme makes that fairly ordinary black chandelier, so much more special.

Delicate and intriguing, this is a lovely vignette.

These oversized vases and pops of yellow are a stylish combo.

Understated tableware can be so effortlessly chic.

The chair reminds me of the recent Elle Decor cover, but the real winner here is those stripy walls - love!

{Ikea Karlstad Sofa: Two Designers, Two Schemes}

To be fair, I love anything Arren Williams works his magic on, but his latest Webisode is really something, so I couldn't wait to share it with you. Arren and Tamara Robbins Griffith both take us on their respective journeys to create two very different (but equally yummy) schemes, based around a leather Karlstad sofa from Ikea. I won't say too much - as the video is well worth a watch - but Arren goes heavy on the texture with wooden surfaces and plenty of rugs, whilst Tamara opts for Hollywood Glamour.

Here's the two finished schemes, in all their gorgeous glory:

I'd love to know which one rocks it for you?

{Magazine Review: Elle Decoration May 2010}

Given that I love shelter magazines so much (I've been known to store them in my oven on occasion!), I thought it would be fun to share my favourite highlights from them each and every month. This super tasty and sophisticated spread comes from the May issue of Elle Decoration and is basically how to rock the monochrome look. I'm totally digging that NYC canvas (1) and the vignettes in the bedroom (7) are stunning in the simplest of ways. Just looking at this apartment makes me feel relaxed...just imagine living in it.

The latest issue of Elle Decoration is out now.

{Three Beautiful Conservatories}

There's something I find incredibly comforting about a conservatory, but I can't think why I feel this way. If I have my own conservatory one day, I'd be really happy if it looked like one of these three. With a splash of French decadence and a mix of English country charm and fresh, cool whites, you really can't go wrong.

{Fun on the Floor}

Well guys, carpet's back. It's a fact. Still not convinced. Well, take a little peak at these beauties from Fun on the Floor...

Yikes, that purple carpet (1) looks so, so good. I'd have that layed in my office in one second flat. Which style is your favourite?

{Cosy Bedrooms}

We're forecast a weekend of rain here in the UK, so after rediscovering my love of Will and Grace last weekend, I think I'll have a lazy morning with good coffee, plenty of pastries and a bundle of my favourite dvds. I'd be tempted to do this way too often if my bedroom looked like these two beauties!

{Samantha Pynn Interiors}

Sigh. Some people are just too cool. Not only does Samantha Pynn have stunning taste in design, she's also the host and principal designer of Pure Design on HGTV. If that wasn't enough to keep her busy, Sam's also the Contributing Design Editor for Style At Home magazine. Go her! Anyhow, her new website launched this week and I found endless inspiration from her work. I especially love the play on scale in many of her schemes: the gold pendant shade (1), symmetrical photography wall (3) and oversized vases in the dining room (8) being a few favourites. Which ones call out to you?
