A few weeks ago they charmed my socks off with their makeover of the RAST chest of drawers; this week the DIY spotlight is on the PRANT box. The team at Livet Hemma used a collection of the PRANT boxes to create a modular storage system, fixing them together with stationery clamps and painting the insides with soft pastel hues. I think it looks brilliant! Have you ever done something similar?

IKEA RAST - An Awesome DIY Project

Livet Hemma
There's plenty of IKEA projects out there in blogland, but few grab my attention in the way this updated RAST chest did. Isn't it wonderful? Personalised with recycled French newspapers and new drawer pulls, it's a total transformation from the off-the-shelf offering. I'll be staying tuned for full instructions on their blog, Livet Hemma, over the coming weeks as I'm really tempted to do this for my new place. If you were going to try this, what would you cover your chest in?

{Decor SOS: Rugs}
In my new living room I have a white two-seat Karlstad sofa, teamed with a multi-coloured striped armchair from IKEA. Yes, this is because I couldn't afford a Paul Smith one (!), but when this guy needs his brightly coloured stripes, this guy needs his brightly coloured stripes. So, the IKEA version it was. I don't want to rush into getting a rug until I am sure I've found The One, but I know the space is crying out for some further warmth, and something that will anchor the room and tie the armchair and sofa togather. Will Mr.Right-Rug ever come and save my living room from it's Decor SOS? Only with the advice from you guys! I'd love to hear some of your rug-related suggestions for this scheme, please!

{Stylist Lo Bjurulf: Swoonalicious Ikea Shoot}
Anyone off to a party this weekend? Perhaps you are organising a friend's wedding reception, or maybe your BFF's latest birthday party? Well, whatever you do, please check out the wonderfully inspirational portfolio of Lo Bjurulf before you get started. Lo has recently teamed up with Ikea to produce some super stunning party scenes that showcase their latest products. I've put some of my favourite images from the shoot into five different party styles. I'd love to know which one would you go to?

{IKEA LIVE: My Highlight}
Sometimes interiors inspiration can air on the side of unachievable, with catalogue pages shot in expansive spaces, laced in grandeur and rammed to the rafters with designer labels. Don't get me wrong, I still take inspiration from such spaces, but every now and then, I love to find a space that right now, without a huge budget or apartment, I could actually achieve. One such space is the lovely home of Prime and Luisa, which is a compact 54meters-squared, but oh-my-word what a stylish 54meters-squared it is!
Mix and Match IKEA pedants and a blackboard wall is affordable and super stylish. Win, Win.
Relaxed, cafe-style seating makes the space feel social and maximises the space avaliable.
Possibly the most ingenious file-storage system I've ever seen. I do love a good bit of organisation.
Not only do they have a good taste in interior style, but in cookbooks, too!

Perhaps, like me, you live in a small space? I'm sure you'll agree this home tour is pretty damn inspiring! You can check out more great spaces over at IKEA Live. What parts of Prime and Luisa's space inspires you?

{Ikea Karlstad Sofa: Two Designers, Two Schemes}
To be fair, I love anything Arren Williams works his magic on, but his latest Webisode is really something, so I couldn't wait to share it with you. Arren and Tamara Robbins Griffith both take us on their respective journeys to create two very different (but equally yummy) schemes, based around a leather Karlstad sofa from Ikea. I won't say too much - as the video is well worth a watch - but Arren goes heavy on the texture with wooden surfaces and plenty of rugs, whilst Tamara opts for Hollywood Glamour.
Here's the two finished schemes, in all their gorgeous glory:

Leo Burnett
This advert is wonderful. I've got to give it to the ad agency, Leo Burnett who created the campaign because I would never usually think to go to Homebase for interior accessories. Now, however, I'm seriously tempted. I love how halfway through all the spaces come together and hundreds of different lights are illuminated. The colourful bridge is lots of fun too. It's a little like a stage set, just inside a train station instead of a theatre. Given the fantastic IKEA campaign running in Paris at the moment and now this work from Homebase, it seems there's plenty of interest around engaging consumers in the home sector. This is no bad thing; here's to more creative interiors advertising please!

{IKEA make metro advertising fun}
Ingenious! For their latest campaign IKEA have removed the gum-ridden plastic seats that normally 'decorate' the stations within the Parisian metro network and replaced them with mini living rooms. This is so much fun, don't you think?
