For my latest Rue magazine column I styled a story about quirky ways to plant this spring. From a fun addition to your kitchen windowsill to a romantic idea for a party centrepiece, I was keen to demonstrate simple, yet striking ways to display plants. I really enjoyed the shoot and still smile everytime I see that delightful teapot! You can read my column and see the shoot in full here. Also, huge thanks to the very lovely James who I worked with on the shoot. Check out his portfolio - you won't be disappointed!

Tuesday just got real good, folks! The spring issue of Sweet Paul magazine is live and I think it's the best yet! Inside the kid's special you will find my latest Will's Picks feature, along with pages and pages stacked full of inspiring ideas, bakes and crafts. I really enjoyed the story on how to turn a cardboard box into toys for children, especially as one of the crafty makes included one of my favourite childhood toys - a theatre. Here's a few of my top tears from the issue - enjoy! What did you love most about the spring issue?

My Latest Rue Magazine Column: Jan/Feb 2011

For the latest issue of Rue Magazine, I turned my attention to the rituals of a New Year and how embracing life's little niggles head-on at the start of the year could pay dividends across the next twelve months. From your home office to the kitchen and beyond, I styled some little vignettes with the hope of inspiring some of the ideas from my article. You can read the whole spread, here. Be sure to look out for the brilliant entertaining story by Annette Joesph, too!

Rue Magazine: My Holiday Column
About three weeks ago, following days of prop hunting and shoot planning, I filled up my little car and made the trip to my Mum's house to get festive, Rue style. With my Mum out the country on a little winter sun break, I was able to take over the house for my latest Rue Magazine photo shoot. And take over the house I did. Picture the scene: hallways full of furniture and living rooms over flowing with props, lights and photographic equipment. We had just one day to capture three different Christmas looks in the same room. Crazy? A little. Fun? You betcha! I was really keen to show how holiday decorating can reflect your personality and style preferences, no matter what the existing space is like. You can read about the three looks in detail in my column (p.77-80) over on Rue's brand new site. I'm hugely proud of this shoot and feel honoured to work for such an inspiring, creative and engaging publication.

Sweet Paul: The Holiday Issue
Tuesday just became a whole lot more interesting, friends! Yep, the first ever holiday issue of Sweet Paul magazine is now live and as the biggest issue to date, it's positively bursting with inspired ideas for foodies, entertainers and crafters alike. It will always be a special issue for me as it includes the first iteration of the Will's Picks feature. Each issue I'll be sharing hints, tips and ideas for decorating, entertaining and crafting. This issue I've written about throwing the best Christmas party on the block, including table and home decor tips to quick canape recipes and ideas for getting the party started. Do let me know if you happen to try any of the craft/decor projects, games or foodie items out - I'd love to hear from you! Given the issue is a joy from start to finish I really wanted to share some of my favourite pages from it. However, as the styling in the magazine is so super duper inspiring, I couldn't pick a number one story but I do keep clicking back to Light Recycling, Thanksgiving and A Cake Tin Full of Memories. Which story is your favourite?

Wahoo! Now A Contributor To Sweet Paul Magazine
I'm over the moon to be able to announce that I'm now a regular contributor to sweet paul magazine. Each issue I'll be working with Paul and his team on some fun little features around entertaining, tablescaping and more. It's an honour to have the opportunity to work on this inspiring, creative and downright fabulous publication. With the turn of each page it is abundantly clear the amount of passion and time that goes into even the smallest of details. The styling is quirky and original, allowing both the foodie and lifestyle content to shine. If you haven't done so yet, please do check out the spring and fall issues as there's plenty to inspire before the holiday issue is published on November 15th. Given my new role, I thought it would be fun to post some my personal favourites from the first two issues. I'd love to know what your favourites are, too. May I let you into a little secret? I'm so excited I'm fit to burst!

{Exciting News! Behind The Scenes On My First Rue Shoot}

"What's this I hear? There's a super stylish new celeb in town?"
"Yeah, and she's dressed head-to-toe in the sexiest, most swoonful interiors around."
"She's been spotted swishing down Madison Ave, too, you say?"
"She sure has. This lady might be the new girl in town, but she's whipping up a storm with her fabulous style, longing looks and lustful ways."
"I can't take it anymore, who is she?!"
"Word is, she's called Rue..."
She sure is and you must dash to check out her premiere issue; it's a delicious treat to be savoured page-by-page. And, excitingly for me, it features my debut column, The Man in the Blue Blazer, which I styled and wrote. It's been such fun working with the girls (yes, even the emails at 1am in the morning!), their support and professionalism has been second to none and there's been a few giggles along the way, too. This issue I've written advice on how to combat your interior's Fall Blues; you'll find decorating tips, vignette ideas and shopping items to devour. Plus, look out for Oliver! So, it's a case of three cheers to Rue...hip hip, hooray!
